The European Values Olympiad

Inclusion, Dialogue and Civic Participation across Europe  

Project - OLYMPICEU

The initiative was coordinated by the Italo-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce of Athens and involved municipalities from Greece and Italy, including Pyrgos, Ancient Olympia, Andravida-Kyllini, Crotone, Squillace and Cirò Marina. These territories share historical and cultural links connected to Magna Graecia and the common heritage of European values.

The project promoted democratic engagement, social inclusion and gender equality at local level, encouraging stronger connections between citizens, institutions and local communities through dialogue and transnational cooperation activities.

By focusing on inclusive participation and active civic engagement, OLYMPICEU contributed to strengthening trust between citizens and local authorities, encouraging cooperation, mutual understanding and shared democratic values across Europe.

Inspired by the spirit of the ancient Olympic tradition, the project created opportunities for citizens and communities to meet, exchange experiences and develop long-term pathways of European cooperation and participation.

Encourage active involvement of citizens in local democratic life through public discussions, workshops and participatory activities promoted during the project events.

Support equal representation and strengthen awareness on the role of women in civic leadership, participation and community decision-making
