OLYMPICEU
A project approved and co-funded by the European Union under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV).
The Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme is the European Union Programme funding initiative dedicated to promoting and protecting European values.
It supports projects that foster democracy, inclusion, equality and civic participation across Member States.
CERV helps public bodies, organisations and citizens build open, democratic and rights-based societies, rooted in Europe’s common history and shared values.
Empowering Citizens, Strengthening Europe
OLYMPICEU was selected under the CERV Programme for its capacity to connect communities, promote equality and foster civic engagement across borders.
The project strengthened dialogue and cooperation between citizens and local authorities, ensuring that inclusion and participation remain at the heart of Europe’s democratic life.

OLYMPICEU directly responds to the priorities of the CERV Programme by promoting democratic participation, inclusion, equality and cooperation between citizens and institutions across Europe.
Promoting Active Citizenship
OLYMPICEU creates opportunities for citizens to take part in local democratic life.
Through workshops, public forums and participatory activities, people can express their views, participate in democratic dialogue and contribute to community engagement across borders.
Enhancing Social Inclusion
The project ensures that marginalized groups — women, youth, seniors, minorities and persons with disabilities — are not left behind.
The projec helps create cohesive communities between different communities, promoting equal access and participation for all.
Advancing Gender Equality and Combating Discrimination
OLYMPICEU promotes equal representation and empowers women to take leadership roles in local decision-making.
It also fights discrimination in all its forms, fostering fairer and more inclusive societies.
Promoting Democratic Values and Building Social Cohesion
By encouraging dialogue and cooperation between citizens and local authorities, the project strengthens mutual trust and reinforces democratic institutions.
It helps create cohesive communities based on transparency, respect and shared European values.
Strengthening European Cooperation and Community Networks
OLYMPICEU connects municipalities, local authorities and civil society organizations from Italy and Greece, creating long-term partnerships that encourage future collaborations across Europe.
It contributes to a wider network of citizens and institutions working together for a stronger, more united Europe.
Building Future European Cooperation
Continuing dialogue, participation and transnational cooperation across Europe.
OLYMPICEU created lasting connections between municipalities, institutions and local communities through dialogue, participation and transnational cooperation.
The experience developed during the project continues to inspire new forms of civic engagement and European collaboration, encouraging the exchange of knowledge, practices and democratic values across borders.
